GARDEN DESIGN
Darren Joseph Garden Design provides a comprehensive garden design service, from initial consultation through to the building and planting of your garden. Our approach is to work closely with our clients throughout the process to create a garden that is both practical and beautiful suiting the space, the way you want to use the garden and reflecting your style preferences.
The design process:
Depending on the scope of the project, all or some of the following stages will form the design process. Initial consultation: This involves a visit to your garden to discuss your ideas, requirements and preferences, about likely uses and function. We will look at the space and discuss its potential and any limitations of the site. From this we will write up a client brief and send it to you for approval. Site survey and analysis: This will include taking photographs, measuring the site and plotting boundaries, any change of level, any structures, trees and features you wish to retain. It will also include analysis of the soil, orientation and weather conditions. In the case of larger projects a landscape survey will be required. Based on this we prepare a thorough design brief and a site analysis.
Presentation drawings:
Based on the agreed brief and the site survey, a scaled presentation plan of the proposed design will be drawn up along with a colour mood board with a range of images and features and finishes, presented to you. Construction drawings: Once everyone is happy with the design, we prepare detailed construction drawings and specifications including setting out plans, technical drawings and specifications for materials on which the quotations for the landscaping works can be based. Planting plans: A detailed planting plan can be produced for the new areas to be planted. The scaled plan will show the location and spacing of all plants and an accompanying plant schedule will list all the specific botanical names along with quantities and sizes.
Building the garden:
We will also build the garden for you, this enables a seamless transition between the design and construction phase of the project with no additional costs for third party management.
We are also happy to work with other professionals such as Architects or Structural Engineers or other contractors as necessary.
Sourcing: As well as sourcing the landscaping materials and plants for your garden, we can also source buildings furniture, features and ornaments to help add the finishing touches
Aftercare: We can provide an aftercare service during the first year to help ensure everything is growing as it should, and to carryout any seasonal maintenance. Alternatively, we can devise a tailor-made written maintenance schedule
